To celebrate Peanut’s first National Day, The Other Half and I did a mad rush for groceries and then home from a lunch appointment and then picked up the Mother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law, fought through traffic all the way to the city, had dinner along Boat Quay, then walked to the front of the Old Supreme Court Building to catch a bit of the march pass and the fire works.

All this, bearing in mind that we usually do absolutely nothing, not even watch the parade on television on National Day.

But after all the activity during the day, The Peanut fell asleep in the stroller 10 minutes before the fireworks started, and stayed resolutely asleep till just before we got back into the car to get home.

So we stayed at home for most of yesterday, only planning a short dinner with The Policeman and his wife.

The Peanut proceeded to stay awake and menaced us through dinner [her repertoire of tricks including and not limited to trying to climb onto the table, trying to grab at things on the table, trying to scale Mount Mummy and Mount Daddy, drooling all over us etc], only falling asleep when we got into the car to get home.

Oh well.
