boredom

Boredom is my greatest enemy. I get bored so quickly and so often that an opponent asked me in Court on Monday why I was always bored.

Sometimes when I get back to the office from Court and think about going home and how bored I will be on the elevator down to the ground floor, the walk to the train station, waiting for the train to arrive, standing in the train, walking from the train station to my parents’, I find myself crippled by Boredom, incapable of embarking on the journey home, remaining in my desk aimlessly surfing the net, still bored but not going home.

He: So why are you always bored?

Me: Because I was bored waiting for Mr. X. Now that Mr. X has arrived, I am bored waiting for our turn to go into Chambers.

He: How long have you been in practice?

Me: This is my 7th PC.

He: 7th?!?!?! Really?!?!?! In my mind I keep thinking that you were in practice for only 2 at the most 3 years!

Me: Yes. That’s how long you’ve known me. What do you expect? When you met me I was single now I am married with a kid. All that takes time, you know.

He: My God!!!

Maybe that’s why they all still bully you, said The Other Half. Because in all of their heads you are still new in practice.

Perhaps that is also why none of them can trewely understand how uninspired and disenchanted, how bored I feel right now.
